Dua Lipa is a English artist and musician who was born August 22nd, 1995, in London United Kingdom. Dua Lipa signed with Warner Bros Records in 2014 after working as a model. She dropped her debut album, self-titled in 2017. The album climbed to number 3 at the U.K. Charts and produced 8 singles. The album also included Be the One I.D.G.A.F as well as the U.K. Number One single New Rules as well as the U.K. No. 1 single New Rules. Lipa has been awarded the Brit Awards in the year 2018 for British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act and her album was certified platinum across several countries around the world. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. Her parents are of Bosnian descent by her maternal grandmother. The ancestors of her can be traced all the way back to Peja which is a city located in Kosovo. Her grandfathers were historians as well. Lipa is the younger sister of Rina Lipa, and has one younger brother, named Gjin. Lipa was influenced musically by her father who was the principal guitarist and singer in Oda, the Kosovan rock group Oda. The family was a place where her father continued to play music such as his own compositions and songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Sting The Police and Stereophonics.
